Laundry Soap & Soap

Ingredients:

For Dry soap- 

1 cup washing soda

1 cup Borax

1 cup Bar soap (Fels Naptha)

For Liquid Laundry Soap-

Grate a bar of soap, put in a pan with 2 qts water and gradually heat until soap is dissolved.  Put 4.5 gallons of really hot tap water in 5-gallon bucket, stir in 2 cups borax and 2 cups of washing soda until dissolved.   Pour soap into bucket, stir well, cover and leave overnight. Shake or stir until smooth and pour into containers.  Use 1/2 -1 cup per load.

Bar Soap for skin (20% fat)

33 oz coconut oil, 76 degrees F

4.83 oz lye (NaOH) red crown

12.54 oz water

.5-1 oz optional essential oil

Bar Soap for Laundry (1% superfat)

33 oz coconut oil (76 degrees F, melting point)

5.9 oz lye

12 oz water
