I found this recipe in the BYU magazine. It's from a cafe in Nauvoo.
Ingredients:
3 1/2 c whipping cream
1 c sugar
1/2 c milk
2 c semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
8 c old French bread cut into 1 inch cubes
White Chocolate Sauce:
1 1/2 c heavy cream
2 c white chocolate chips
Method:
Preheat oven tot 325 degrees F. Bring cream, sugar, and milk tot simmer in a saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves; remove from heat. Add chocolate chips and whisk until melted and smooth. Whisk eggs and vanilla in a large bowl to blend. Gradually whisk in hot chocolate mixture. Cool resulting custard for 10 minutes, stirring often. Add bread cubes to custard and toss to coat. Transfer to a 9x13 greased baking dish. Bake until custard thickens and center is just set 40 minutes. Serve warm with white chocolate sauce.
Sauce: Heat cream in a saucepan until bubbles form around edge of pan, but not to boiling. Remove from heat, whisk in white chocolate chips, and stir until melted and smooth. Makes 14 servings.
