Meat or Cabbage Pies/ Shóngy

Ingredients:

1 liter warm milk

3 eggs

2 1/2 tsp yeast

2 Tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

Enough flour to make a dough


Method:

Mix all ingredients except flour.  Add flour a cup at a time until it its tacky but not sticky.  Let rise for an hour or so, Beat w/ fist, mix with flour.  Roll into cylinder 1 inch diameters, Cut 1/2 inch slices.  Roll into small, thin circles.  Add meat or cabbage.  Bake until golden brown, spread butter on top and serve.


Shóngy:

1. Make dough like meat and cabbage pies.

2. Prepare mashed potatoes with milk, butter and onions (onions you fry separate the mix in, garlic too if desired)

3 Roll dough into 2 inch diameter circles, put potatoes in the middle, pinch up sides, put 1 tsp sour cream on top and back in the oven in oil.
