Taco Meat

This recipe was originally inspired by the taco seasoning packet at Trader Joes, I love it, it's a hit with my kids and I fed about 10 people tacos with only 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef.  I, however, have one son who doesn't love the tomato sauce in it so I have changed the recipe and now make my own Mexican Seasoning which you can find on this blog.  I also omit the oil because the meat creates enough for this recipe.  The Trader Joe's recipe is on the seasoning packet.

INGREDIENTS

1 large onion. diced small

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1/4 cup Mexican Seasoning

*1 can tomatoes sauce

METHOD

Heat a large fry pan, add the onions, cook until lightly browned stirring to avoid burning, add the beef, cook until browned and in small crumbles, add the seasoning and sauce, simmer for 20 minutes.  Serve warm.

*If you like your meat saucy add the tomato sauce otherwise it's absolutely delicious without it.
